The Reverse Blog Post
I’ve explained how I’ll be writing the book section of this site using a technique I call the skeleton.
That is, it’ll pretty much be a skeleton of headings and bullets until I gradually get to writing the details.
I figure the skeleton should work alright for a blog post as well… so let’s see…
Firstly, I want this post to be about digital marketing conventions and when to break them.
So give the skeleton below a checking and let me know in the comments anything you’d fill the gaps with.
And of course I’ll give you credit for anything I use in the post.
We’ll start with some takeaways from this post…
- New things that work are both highly interesting and innovative
- Sadly when new things become conventions they get so boring
- Digital marketing is too samey and not enough new stuff
- So get doing some new stuff and see if it takes off
New things that work are both highly interesting and innovative
The filling goes here…
Innovation has made a great name for itself because we hardly ever hear about the failures.
So why don’t we innovate more?
Sadly when new things become conventions they get so boring
Boring like a worn old pair of shoes that used to make your feet feel like they were walking on clouds.
I know I have some.
Digital marketing is too samey and not enough new stuff
We all think we’re so cutting edge are we really?
We should all be using non-existent words like “samey”.
So get doing some new stuff and see if it takes off
Make an effort to challenge conventions and “best practice”, take some calculated risks, go some trial and error… if they don’t work you’ve learned something, but when they do consider yourself awesome!
